Animal welfare statement

All 25 chickens are housed, fed, and cared for throughout the full eight-week season, regardless of prediction outcomes or the season's final result. Weekly weigh-ins are a standard part of raising Cornish Cross broilers and are conducted by people experienced in handling poultry.

At the end of the season, one chicken is selected through the community survivor vote and is permanently spared — kept alive and cared for going forward as the project's mascot. The remaining chickens are processed off the public livestream, consistent with standard practice for meat-bird flocks of this breed.
